1. 11th Ave Park
11th Ave Park is certainly one of my favorite spots when it comes to outdoor pickleball courts in Salt Lake City.
You can find 6 dedicated outdoor hard courts at the location, so you can pick your favorite! All have permanent lines and nets, so all you need to do is bring your own equipment and you’re good to play.
You can even reserve the courts if you’d like to make sure you have a playing spot - although this isn’t likely to be the issue.

2. Lodestone Park
This park offers 2 dedicated hard courts with permanent lines and nets. While there aren’t many amenities, the area has everything a novice player needs to practice.
Also, the courts are free and you can make a reservation.

3. 10th East Senior Center
This is a great place for all seniors to enjoy a game of pickleball and improve their health.
There are 3 outdoor and 1 indoor courts at the location. There aren’t many amenities, and you’ll have to bring your own nets, but the courts are dedicated so there is no need to mess with adjusting a tennis court.

While Millrace Park is known for its pond, it also offers 2 dedicated outdoor concrete courts with permanent nets and lines.

Just keep in mind that the park is closed on Tuesdays! Don’t make the same mistake I did and come on the wrong day.

This is yet another park that offers amazing courts. In fact, there are 6 courts with permanent lines and nets that are entirely free!
Next to pickleball courts, this place also offers sand volleyball and tennis courts, as well as a fireplace, pavilions, and tables. What a great place for a day of family fun!
You can also reserve the courts, which you might want to do as this place tends to be full.

Next to amazing outdoor courts that I’ve already mentioned, Murray is a great place to play pickleball indoors, as well. This location offers 6 dedicated courts with permanent lines. You can bring your own nets, or you can use the ones available at the spot.
The only downside is that there aren’t that many amenities, which is a downer for a court that requires a membership.

Peckleball Palace (no, it’s not a spelling mistake) is one of the most popular pickleball courts in Salt Lake City.
It offers 3 dedicated courts with permanent nets and lines, as well as various amenities, such as an equipment store or private lessons where you can learn the basics of pickleball. The entire place is inclusive, with wheelchair accessibility, which is always a bonus.
Uniquely, there are private screens around the court that also help with noise reduction.

There are 6 wood courts with permanent lines. Portable nets are available at the spot.
There aren’t many amenities, but you’ll get all the basics you need to have a good time, such as water and restrooms. Of course, the courts are lighted, and everything is in perfect order.
You can reserve the courts, if you prefer staying on the safe side.

No matter which of the pieces of advice you end up following, remember to confirm court availability, any reservations or fees required, and the specific rules for using the courts in your area.
This is especially the case if you need special amenities, such as wheelchair accessibility. Not to mention that you’ll need to know whether you should bring an indoor or outdoor pickleball!
Look Online
The easiest way to find pickleball courts near you is to use an online search engine. A quick search is all you need to get a list of nearby courts along with customer (or, should I say, player) reviews.
One important piece of advice - some of these reviews might be paid for, so be careful.
Next, look online for pickleball associations. Most states have their own, such as the Utah Junior Pickleball Organization (JPO).
If unsure, you can always contact the USA Pickleball Association. They will be able to point you in the direction of a local organization.
Contact Potential Locations
You can visit local community centers, recreation departments, and parks. You might end up seeing a court just by driving by! Some sports facilities or private clubs may also have pickleball courts available.
Not only that, but some educational institutions, especially community colleges or universities, have pickleball courts that are open to the public. Even some churches might have courts available! You have probably noticed this by looking at my list.
Of course, you don’t have to go there in person. Their websites often have information about recreational activities, including pickleball courts. Contact them or check their websites for details on nearby courts.

Joining local pickleball groups on social media platforms like Facebook or checking pickleball forums is also a good place to start. These groups often share information about local courts and events, and they can connect with other players in your area.
While we’re at connecting with other players, you can always ask them for help! From my experience, this is one of the best ways to get truthful advice and court reviews.
Local players can often provide valuable information about nearby courts, the amenities they provide, and popular times to play.
Is Pickleball Popular In Utah?
Despite the seemingly small number of pickleball courts in Salt Lake City, pickleball is rather popular in Utah. In fact, a study shows that Utah was the state most interested in pickleball in 2022!
There are several established leagues, tournaments, and pickleball clubs in this state. Not to mention how more and more locations are including pickleball courts as a part of their activities.
In fact, some of the greatest pickleball team names come from Utah! I bet you weren’t aware of that!

As you can see, pickleball is rather popular in Utah. In fact, the only reason why it might seem like there aren’t many pickleball courts in Salt Lake City is because the city itself isn’t as big as some other cities you might’ve looked into.
For example, it’s not a surprise there are more pickleball courts in Jacksonville, as Jacksonville has 4 times more residents!
As long as you know where to look for courts, and you’re not afraid to ask for some advice, you’ll find plenty of great places to play.
