11 Best Pickleball Courts In Portland, Oregon

11 Best Pickleball Courts In Portland, Oregon

Portland is Oregon’s largest city. Does this mean there are many pickleball courts in Portland, as well?

Sitting on the Columbia and Willamette rivers, this city is known for its parks and bicycle paths, as well as for its eco mentality.

Basically, it is a prototype for a hipster city as everybody perceives it. The city is one of the most progressive cities that is thriving in art, theater, and music scenes. But what about pickleball and sports in general?

Well, I guess that more than 70 pickleball centers, public clubs, and YMCA courts speak for themselves when asked about the pickleball scene. But in the sea of these courts, which ones are the best?

Well, I have taken the liberty to compile the list of the best pickleball courts Portland has to offer. Shall we check it out?

Best Outdoor Pickleball Courts

Since I wasn’t introduced to Portland's pickleball scene until I came to this wonderful city, I didn’t expect to see that many outdoor courts. I was blown away by how many centers have professional courts, with conditions perfect for players of all ages and skill levels.

There are big sports centers with huge amounts of great courts on different surfaces, as well as intimate spots that will still offer you everything you ask for from a pickleball center. Let’s check out the best of them!

1. Babette Horenstein Tennis Center

Babette Horenstein Tennis Center is located on the west side of Portland, in the Five Oaks area.

This huge center offers the best tennis courts in Portland but the most important for us is that it offers 14 professional dedicated pickleball courts with permanent nets and lines. Out of them, 8 are outdoor ones.

Even in colder months, it has 6 indoor courts so the pickleball fun never stops really. In the facility you can find a sports equipment shop in case you need any gear for the game.

In my personal opinion, this is the best center for people that want to concentrate just on pickleball games, without any distractions. So reserve the courts, bring your friends, and let the games begin!
